New Products to be Displayed at Graphics of the Americas - Booth 1869
Fairfield, NJ, October 17, 2000 - Chesnut Engineering announces
plans to display three new products at Graphics of the Americas
2001, Miami Beach, Florida, February 2-4, 2001. Two new SUPRA
press lines will be featured, and the availability of PRIMIS
Direct Print licenses will be announced.
On display is the SUPRA 1600 in 16in (400mm) web width. SUPRA
presses will outperform many wider presses due to their new
efficiency features and lower cost tooling. The new SUPRA
System is the ultimate tool for producing short and medium
runs of paper labels, P-S labels, shrink labels, unsupported
films and foils. SUPRA features simple gravure technology
and a lightweight engraved sleeve system. It includes the
latest computer controls, job memory system and automatic
pre-setting, making it even more efficient and user friendly.
Also available is the SUPRA 1900 in 23in (600mm).
For even more flexibility SUPRA presses can incorporate screen
or flexo printing units and flexo/gravure UV units, giving
the converter the ability to use the best process for the
job, a major benefit for the high value label market.
Chesnut will announce that licensing is now available for
the new PRIMIS Direct Print System to qualified companies.
PRIMIS is a polymeric gravure image carrier that is substantially
lower in cost because of the patented breakthrough system
of producing the coating. The system is much lower in cost
than conventional gravure and even high quality tone Flexo
plates. PRIMIS can be engraved by conventional electro-mechanical
or laser means. The imagery is produced directly from a digital
controlled engraving machine and requires no chemical or water
washout or plating.
